Preface

I never read the book, in fact a friend sent me this excerpt because I had talked to them about minimalist and my love for simplicity. As it turns out, I really liked this.

The Benefits of Simplifying Your Life

Quote

“The secret of happiness is not found in seeking more but the capacity to enjoy less.”
-Socrates

It is you alone who has responsibility for your life.

If it seems as though you don’t have full control over your life, it may be time for you to simplify.

A simple life is about being purposeful and deliberate with your possessions, the things you do and who you spend time with…holding on to what matters, letting go of what doesn’t.

It’s about living without the things you don’t need and don’t really make you happy.

You decide how to spend your time and use your money.

It’s all about living uncluttered…your house, your schedule, your money, your to-do list…not allowing people, possessions or money to dictate your life.

You feel less stressful because you don’t take on more than you can handle…not wasting your energy on things that are unimportant to you.

And you now have more precious free time for yourself.

Quote

“Fear less, hope more, eat less, chew more, whine less, breathe more, talk less, say more and all good things will be yours. ”
-Swedish Proverb

Living simply is all about contentment and contentment is the only thing that brings true joy into your life.
