I’m currently using obsidian + Tasks plugin for task management inside my work notes vault. However, I’m not quite happy with the setup, so I’m writing this note to better keep track of my requirements as I often get ideas while working.
Daily note
Daily note show should unfinished tasks, carried over from previous days. This is achievable with a tasks code block and a large-ish query.
Each daily note should show which tasks where completed that day.
A nice to have: I would also like to be able to have some kind of a chart showing tasks completions (maybe showing how long it took from creation to completion)
Tasks as notes
I would like each note to also be a note, so that I can keep notes on a task’s context, problem, solutions tried. This is doable with the tasks plugin but is a bit cumbersome. One issue with this is the frontmatter cannot be used for task properties.

Tasks as notes is very useful as they can be referenced in other files.
Problems
Can’t seem to get start or scheduled query keywords to work. e.g. finding tasks with due dates or start dates or scheduled dates, only seems to show me due dates.
Can’t easily see upcoming due dates.
